One of my passions is preparing different recipes, that's why Why make French toast as usual if we can innovate? Well, today we are going to innovate with different torrijas, with cream and strawberries and that are to suck your fingers, like all the recipes that we have proposed for this Easter.

The French toast is delicious, but this recipe for Torrijas stuffed with cream and strawberries is incredible. You will love it for sure

Ingredients

  • 10 slices of Bread without crust
  • ½ liter of milk
  • The skin of a lemon
  • 1 stick of Cinnamon
  • 50 gr of sugar
  • 2 eggs L
  • Strawberries
  • Nata
  • Mild olive oil for frying
  • Vanilla sugar for coating

Preparation

  1. Put the milk in a saucepan together with the lemon peel, the cinnamon stick and the sugar. Boil for a few minutes, remove from heat and let stand until cool. Once cold, strain the milk and remove the lemon peel and cinnamon.

  2. Beat the eggs in another bowl. And we prepare the cream, we can assemble it ourselves or buy it already assembled. Either way, we keep it reserved in the fridge.
    We wash, dry, and remove the stems from the strawberries and cut them into strips.

  3. We put a slice of bread on a sushi mat or on aluminum foil and flatten it with the help of a rolling pin.

  4. We spread the whole slice of the cream and place a row of strawberries on one side and roll up. We do the same with the rest of the slices.

  5. We take the rolls carefully and soak them in the milk. Once we have them, we pass them through the beaten egg and fry them in abundant oil until they are golden.

  6. We take them out with the slotted spoon and place them on kitchen paper to remove excess oil.

  7. Finally, we coat them with the vanilla sugar and place them on a tray.
