For French toast lovers we have this dessert that is a real delight. Are the traditional French toast, but with a small nuance that will make them irresistible. These slices of bread are soaked with the traditional flavored milk, where we will add condensed milk and a little rum liqueur. Ingredients
- 8-10 slices of bread for torrijas
- 500 ml. milk
- 50 ml rum
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- the peel of 1 orange
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1/2 small can of condensed milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 small plate of flour
- Oil for frying (sunflower oil is more neutral in flavor)
- Honey and cake glitter for decoration
Preparation
In a saucepan we put the 500 ml of milk, the shell of orange and cinnamon stick. We put it on the fire and let it boil 2 minutes.
When we have it ready, let it cool and transfer it to a bowl, without the stick and the orange peel. We add the 2 tablespoons of sugar, condensed milk and 50 ml of rum. We stir the mixture well.
We take the slices and let them soak well on the milk. Let them drain on another plate.
We prepare the dish flour and in a bowl we beat both eggs.
We put to heat abundant oil for frying, which is at least one finger thick.
Coat the French toast with the flour, then with the egg and add it to the hot oil.
We let it be brown on one side and flip so that they brown on the other side. We prepare a plate with absorbent kitchen paper and we are placing the French toast that we are removing from the pan.
Ready the French toast, place them on a platter, add honey on top and we can decorate with glitter for cakes.
