Hungarian Christmas cake with dried fruits

Preparation

1. We put the oven to preheat to 180 ° C. We dissolve the yeast in hot milk, add a teaspoon of sugar and let it rest for 10 minutes.

2. In a large bowl, mix the flours and Tulipán margarine by hand until the dough begins to crumble. Next, we add 2 beaten eggs, yeast, milk, sugar and a pinch of salt. We knead. If the dough is too sticky, we add more flour.

3. When the dough is soft and smooth, we divide it into balls (2 or 4 balls) and reserve them.

4. We prepare the filling, and for this, we boil the water and powdered sugar to prepare a thick syrup. Add the walnuts, breadcrumbs, raisins and lemon peel. We keep stirring all the time. We remove the saucepan from the heat and let it cool down.

5. Sprinkle a little of the flour on a kneading board and roll out each of the balls to form a rectangle with a thickness of no more than 5 mm. On top, we spread the filling evenly, leaving a margin of one centimeter all around. Brush the edges with the beaten egg.

6. We roll the dough and make sure to carefully seal the edges so that the roll is closed and the filling does not come out.
   We place the cake on a baking tray or a greased mold. We beat an egg and paint the cake. We leave it in the fridge for 35 minutes and then we bake it between 25 and 30 minutes.

7. We will not open the oven while it is cooking, because the cake would crumble.
