Who said that children do not like vegetables and more specifically ... cauliflower? Well, in my house there is not a drop of this dish every time I prepare it. I am very fond of this recipe. I learned it when I was doing my Erasmus in Brussels, from my Colombian friend Silvana who cooked tremendously well and from whom I learned many dishes. We did it often, especially for dinner, because it is very fast, easy and, above all, very cheap (That when you are a student ... this is appreciated !!).
And for the children, by bringing sausages and the cheese sauce they eat it phenomenally. And, for me, it is fantastic in the tupperware to eat the next day at work.

Cauliflower with sausages with cream and cheese sauce

Ingredients
- 1 small cauliflower (500 g approx)
- 1,5 liters of water
- 400 ml liquid cream for cooking
- 8 German sausages that come in a glass jar (they are the ones I like the most, but you can use frankfurter type or any other type)
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg
- 200 g cheese cheese that melts well in slices or grated (emmental, semi or tender manchego ...)
Preparation
We clean the cauliflower and remove the florets.
We prepare a pot with the water and a little salt and cook the bouquets until they are tender. It will depend on the size in which we have cut them, but approximately 10-15 minutes (if you like them more or less al dente).
When it is to our liking (we can prick it with a knife or fork to see if it is already tender) drain it very well and place it in a pan over medium heat.
We put the sliced sausages on top.
Next we add a little salt, the cream, the pepper and the nutmeg and the cheese (in my case it was sliced cheese), chopped or grated.
We are stirring and cooking until the cheese melts and integrates well with the cream. You have to stir very carefully so as not to break the cauliflower, which is already very delicate when cooked.
We serve with sprinkled parsley or oregano (optional).
