We show you, with several photographs of the step by step, to prepare this simple chocolate cake with pastry cream and strawberries on the surface. On the one hand we will make a cocoa and cinnamon cake. Once baked we will bathe it with a very simple syrup that we will prepare in the microwave.
On the surface of the cake we will put jam, custard cream (If you don't want to make it you can always put a few tablespoons of custard) and then some chopped strawberries.
Do not forget to paint the strawberries with the glazed. It will brighten the fruit and make our cake much more palatable.
Chocolate and strawberry cake
A juicy cake, with the intense flavor of cocoa and cinnamon. The pastry cream gives it creaminess and the strawberries a fresh touch.

Ingredients
For the cake:
- 200 g flour
- 150 g of sugar
- 20 g cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons yeast
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- A little bit of salt
- 120 g of sunflower oil
- 50 g of cream
- 20g milk
- 1 egg
- 1 yolk
To bathe the cake:
- 40 g of water
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
For the surface:
- Strawberry jam
- Pastry cream (or custard)
- Strawberries
For the frosting:
- 100 g of sugar
- 2 tablespoons of strawberry jam
- A splash of lemon juice
Preparation
We preheat the oven to 180.
We prepare a mold of about 22 centimeters in diameter, greasing and flouring it. We reserve it.
We put the dry ingredients in a bowl, sifting them with a strainer: the flour, the cocoa, the yeast, the salt and the cinnamon.
Also sugar.
We mix and reserve them.
In another bowl we put the egg, the yolk, the sunflower oil, the cream and the milk.
We beat it all up.
We put these liquid ingredients in the bowl where we have the dry ingredients.
Mix well until everything is well integrated.
We put our mixture (you will see that it is compact) in the mold that we have prepared and level the surface.
Bake at 180 for approximately 30 minutes, until we see that it is well cooked (we put a toothpick and, if it comes out clean, our cake will be ready).
Once done, we take it out of the oven and let it cool.
We prepare the syrup by putting the water and sugar in a small microwave-safe bowl. We heat it for two minutes. We take out and mix with a spoon.
With a teaspoon we bathe our sponge cake with the syrup.
We put jam on the surface of the cake.
On the jam we put a few tablespoons of pastry cream. We distribute it on the surface of the cake.
We wash and dry the strawberries well. We chop them and we place them on the pastry cream.
To prepare the glaze we put all the ingredients in a small microwave bowl. We heat it for about 4 minutes, mixing from time to time.
Brush the strawberries with this glaze. This way they will be shiny.
We keep in the refrigerator to cool it down.
Once cold we can unmold it and we will have it ready to serve.
