Christmas Recipes: Condensed Milk Cookies

These Christmas cookies have such an appropriate white color thanks to the addition of condensed milk as a sweetener and to the use of corn flour instead of wheat. We will use a cookie cutter or our own hands (or that of the children) to shape the cookies with Christmas motifs (fir trees, reindeer, stars…). We propose you a condensed milk glaze to decorate them. Shall we color it?

Ingredients

For the cookies:

  • 200 gr. condensed milk
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 125 gr. of butter
  • 350 gr. by Maizena

For the frosting:

  • 75 gr. unsalted butter
  • 170 gr. icing sugar
  • 3 tablespoons of condensed milk

Preparation

  1. Mix the softened butter at room temperature together with the egg yolk. Then, we add the condensed milk and mix.

  2. Pour the sifted flour over the milk and butter cream and knead with your hands or a few rods.

  3. We form the cookies with small portions of dough and place them on a baking tray covered with non-stick paper.

  4. We cook the cookies in a preheated oven at about 160 degrees for about 12 or 15 minutes until they are very lightly browned. Let cool on a rack.

  5. Prepare the glaze: beat the softened butter with an electric whisk until it is creamy. Then, gradually add the icing sugar with the help of a strainer until the mixture is homogeneous. Little by little, we now add the condensed milk, continuing to mix with the rods. We decorate the cookies with frosting, to which we can add various colourings.

    These condensed milk cookies look delicious, they would be the perfect dessert for this Christmas, my little nephews love cookies, especially gingerbread cookies, as they are a tradition in the Christmas season.
