There are only a few days left for the night most awaited by the little ones in the house: «The fantastic night of the Kings», where the illusion of young and old comes to the surface again to open all the gifts.

Well, let's make that night a little sweeter even if possible with a great Homemade Sweet Charcoal de Reyes, because…. Not everything has to be gifts and presents!

Surely you think, the recipe will be complicated…. Well no, you can't imagine how simple it is. Of course, within the recipe we must differentiate three parts:

  1. Preparation of the icing
  2. The addition of syrup to the previous mixture
  3. A deep mold

Ingredients

For the icing

  • 1 egg white
  • 200 gr of icing sugar
  • 1/2 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • black food coloring

For the syrup:

  • 700 gr. sugar
  • 230 ml of water

To bake

  • A deep mold, lined with greaseproof paper

Preparation

  1. The first thing we will do is line our mold with baking paper because once we prepare the mixture, we will have to immediately pour it into it, before it cools.

  2. We will start preparing the icing. for this we will use a bowl and with the help of the rods of a mixer, we will put the egg white and the lemon, and we will assemble it all adding little by little the icing sugar until we get a mixture with enough thickness.

  3. We will use about 60 grams of this glaze to make the recipe, and we dye it with black food coloring to make it as dark as possible.

  4. Now it is the turn to prepare the syrup. In a pot, we put water and sugar. We let it boil, and once it starts to boil, we add the glaze that we had dyed black and we stir everything well. You will notice how the mixture begins to rise, forming a light foam, but you will also notice that as we stir the mixture, it will begin to go down.

  5. When we see that it rises again, we quickly put it in the mold that we have prepared. Even if it looks like it's going to overflow, don't worry, because it'll soon get cold and that block of coal will have formed so we can break it into pieces.
