Cooking Tricks: How to Make the Perfect Iced Tea

Cold tea is one of the best allies to withstand the high temperatures that lie ahead. Besides being one of the healthiest drinks with the most beneficial properties, it is perfect to quench our thirst and heat. But… do you know how to make the perfect iced tea?

  • When you prepare the hot tea, once you let it rest in the glass, put some loose green tea leaves per cup and leave in the fridge overnight. Then strain it again and add the ice.
  • To give it a more powerful flavor, instead of using ice cubes, use tea cubes to which you can add a little sugar, some mint leaves or a good splash of lemon juice.
  • If you are going to sweeten the tea, you better do it hot, since sugar takes much longer to dissolve when cold.
  • If you are going to sweeten it cold, the best sweetener is syrup.
  • It is very important to leave chill the tea before putting it in the fridge. Since the thermal contrast is detrimental to the taste, so let it come to room temperature before putting it in the fridge.
  • Don't leave tea in the fridge for too many days (no more than 2-3 days) because otherwise it will begin to lose its flavor and properties.

Now you have an excuse to make the perfect iced tea.
