Many times the key to a salad is in doing it the most Attractive possible to the children. A good way to create attraction is through shapes and colors. In this case we are going to play with these two variables: we are going to choose fruits and vegetables that are fresh and of good quality, we are going to combine their colors. In addition, each one will have a different shape and, if we make the child participate in the purchase and preparation of their own salad, they will even more want to eat it.

In addition, we are going to dress it with a modena vinaigrette, which will give it a sweet touch, and we are going to decorate it with sesame. In this case, we have used black sesame so that it has a greater visual contrast, but you can use normal sesame.

This salad is perfect to accompany meat, fish or omelettes.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cucumber (Dutch variety) peeled into pieces
  • 1 tomato raff
  • 1 celery branch
  • 1 apple (pink lady or fuji variety, also granny smith)
  • black or normal sesame
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • salt to taste

Preparation

  1. We peel the tomato and cut it into wedges. TIP: To peel the tomato we make a cross at the shallow base, so that we only cut the skin. Blanch it (put in a boiling pot) for 30 seconds. In this way, the skin will peel off almost on its own without altering the flavor of the tomato.

  2. We peel the cucumber leaving some strips of skin without removing and cut it into slices and each slice in half.

  3. We peel the apple, remove the core and cut it into large squares.

  4. The celery, we remove any strands it may have and cut it into semi-thick slices.

  5. We put all the vegetables and fruits in a salad bowl or individual bowls.

  6. In a large bowl, add the oil, vinegar and salt and stir vigorously with a fork or a few rods until it is well emulsified. We toss the salad on top and stir well. Sprinkle with sesame as a decoration.
