Hasselback potatoes, from Sweden

Until today I had not known this way of cooking potatoes from Swedish cuisine. In texture and flavor they are very similar to those of rustic or baked potatoes, since they are usually flavored with a little salt and herbs such as rosemary or thyme.

What has surprised me is the way they cut them before baking. The peeled and whole potato, it is cut into many thin slices. This allows the oil and spices to better penetrate the potato, thus achieving a tastier and more tender roast.

These potatoes Hasselback they are an excellent garnish for meat and fish. Its original presentation will surprise children more reluctant to this type of dishes. To make these potatoes and their accompanying ingredients more attractive, we can add cheese or a rich sauce.

I have made them today and they are great! Add a little trick. If you put the potatoes in the microwave 8 minutes later with only ten minutes in the oven, they will be done!

Thanks Mel! We sign it up and thus save time and energy. That option is better than just using the microwave, right? I think that this way the potatoes, thanks to the oven, come out more crisp.
