A very simple sweet that is prepared in a moment, with very few kitchen utensils. With our hands we will form a kind of bread that we will cook in the oven and that will serve us for breakfast or snack.
I have called it bread but because of the shape, not because of the texture or because it contains baker's yeast. We will prepare it with butter and, in this case, it will go flavored with the grated skin of a lemon. You can flavor it with orange peel or with a splash of liquor.
Do not expect a fluffy candy because it is not. Remember more to traditional donuts or cookies homemade.
Lemon Buttermilk Bread

Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 80 butter g
- 300 g flour
- 100 g of sugar
- The skin of 1 organic lemon
- 8 g of baking powder type Royal
- 1 pinch of salt
Plus:
- Milk to brush the surface
- 1 spoon of sugar
- Sugar sticks
Preparation
The first thing we have to do is melt the butter in a bain-marie or in the microwave at a low temperature. Let it cold down.
We put the two eggs in a bowl.
We beat the eggs.
Add the melted butter.
We mix well.
Now add the sifted flour and also the sugar.
Add the salt and yeast, also sifted. We mix.
We add the grated skin of a lemon (only the yellow part) and mix, first with a wooden spoon and then with our hands.
We shape our bread and put it on a baking tray, on kitchen paper. We brush it with milk or with a beaten egg.
We put sugar on the surface and also sugar sticks.
Bake at 170º (preheated oven) for approximately 40 minutes.
