Today we bring you a recipe for macaroni and cheese that is different from what we are used to. I can only tell you that they are delicious and worth trying

150 g macaroni
350 ml of milk
300 g of grated cheddar cheese
4 tablespoons of butter
60 g of bread crumbs
1 tablespoon flour
1 chopped shallot (or a little onion if not), a teaspoon tip of Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon salt.

Preparation

In a saucepan with plenty of water, cook the pasta following the manufacturer's instructions.
In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter, add the breadcrumbs and until toasted.
We remove the crumbs with a slotted spoon and reserve them on absorbent paper.
In the same pan, add a couple more tablespoons of butter with a tablespoon of olive oil and sauté the chopped shallot (or a tablespoon of grated onion) until transparent.
Add the flour and cook it, stirring it with a wooden spoon.
Remove from the heat and pour the milk together with the mustard.
With the help of a spatula or a wooden spoon, we stir well until the milk is well incorporated.
Return the pan to the heat, add salt, and cook until thickened.
Off the heat, add half of the grated cheese and stir until the cheese melts. Add the macaroni and mix.
Put in a rectangular dish, sprinkle with the rest of the grated cheese and spread the toasted crumbs on top.
Bake for about 25 minutes until it takes consistency and is golden on top.
