Mimosa cake to celebrate Women's Day

The mimosa cake is a very popular Italian cake that is prepared on the occasion of Women's Day, March 8. Its name is due to the decoration with cake crumbs, which are reminiscent of the mimosa flower. This plant blooms in early March and has therefore become the symbol of the Women's Day in Italy. The cake recipe is a bit elaborate, although it is easy to assemble. It is necessary to prepare two sheets of sponge cakes, a syrup to get drunk and a pastry cream. Go for it!
