You don't need a cause for celebration to prepare a single puff pastry and cream cake like today.
It is a dessert that we can make in a few minutes because we are going to use a sheet of puff pastry purchased. You will find it in any supermarket, in the refrigerated area.
La cream filling yes it will be homemade. In the preparation section you have photos of the step by step. I anticipate that we will need very few ingredients: egg yolks, sugar, cornstarch and milk.
We have decorated our sweet with melted chocolate, an addition with which we are always right.

Puff pastry and cream cake

Ingredients
- 1 round puff pastry sheet
- 500g milk
- 100 g of sugar
- Yolks 4
- 35 g cornstarch
- 2 ounces chocolate fondant
Preparation
We put the milk to heat in a saucepan.
While it is heating, we put the egg yolks in a bowl.
We add the sugar.
We mix.
Add the cornstarch and continue mixing.
When everything is well integrated we put it in the saucepan where we have the hot milk.
Cook, over low heat, without stopping mixing, for about 5 minutes.
You will see that our cream, little by little, is gaining consistency.
We put the cream in a bowl, cover with film, and let it cool.
We take the puff pastry sheet out of the refrigerator and wait about 5 minutes before spreading it out. We spread it on a mold of about 26 centimeters in diameter.
We distribute the cream over our dough (if we consider that it is a lot of cream we can reserve part of it and take it as custard).
Bake at 180º for approximately 40 minutes.
Once out of the oven, we melt our chocolate in the microwave, in a small bowl, and decorate our cake with it.
