I have used this 4-spice blend in many of the recipes. In Anglo-Saxon countries they sell them already mixed and they are bought like snail spices here or curry, in little boats. Here, except in specialized stores or gourmet centers, it is difficult to find them, but why not make our own at home and always have them on hand?

They are good for flavoring cookies, apple pies, pumpkin pies, sweet potato pies, donuts and a long etcetera. Of course, keep it in an airtight container so that it does not lose aroma.

4 tablespoons of ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons ground ginger
4 teaspoons ground nutmeg
2 teaspoons ground cloves

Preparation

It is enough to mix all these ingredients in a bowl. If you are going to grate your own nutmeg, put only 2 teaspoons because otherwise it will be too intense. Actually, if you have a traditional coffee grinder, you can grind the spices yourself (not nutmeg, because it grates). Typically, a teaspoon of this 4-spice mix is used in cookie or cake batters that require it. More quantity would give a too intense flavor, but you still like that intensity.
