Ingredients
For the dough
- Taking a normal cup as a measure:
- 2 cups of flour
- 3/4 cup of warm milk
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon and a half baking powder
- 1/2 tablespoon of salt
- 1/4 tablespoon of cinnamon
- 3 apples, peeled, cored and sliced
For the sauce
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup plain sugar
To paint the dough
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup of brown sugar
- 1/4 cup apple juice
- 1/2 cup icing sugar
Preparation
Prepare a large bowl and put the flour, sugar, salt, cinnamon and yeast. With the help of the rods of a mixer, stir until everything is well united. Add the melted butter with the warm milk and continue beating until you create a ball of dough.
Knead with the mixer for about 4 minutes. Transfer the dough to a lightly buttered bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Let the dough rise in a warm place for about two hours until it doubles in size.
While the dough rises, peel the apples into slices.
Knead everything and divide into two balls. On a floured surface, roll out each ball into a rectangle and cut into 9 strips.
Lightly grease a round mold, and start at the center of the roll. Go placing the apple pieces by rolling it with the strips of the dough so that it is in a spiral.
Repeat the same steps for the other half of the dough, and once you have the complete spiral, cover with plastic wrap and let rise for another 45 minutes. When it's almost risen, turn on the oven and preheat it to 180 degrees. Bake the wrap for about 20 minutes until it is golden brown.
Mix the cinnamon and sugar in a bowl. And once you remove the wrap from the oven, brush it with the melted butter and sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture on top.
While the wrap is cooling, melt the butter that we had reserved for the filling in a saucepan. When it is melted, add the brown sugar and heat everything until it boils without stopping stirring. Once it has boiled, turn off the heat and stir everything for about 2 more minutes. Add the apple juice, and heat until it boils again, then remove from the heat and let it cool for about 30 minutes.
Gradually add the powdered sugar to the mixture and stir. Keep in mind that the sauce for the filling should not be too compact, but liquid, otherwise add a little more apple juice.
Once you have the mixture achieved, spray on the roll, you will have a perfect glaze.
