Make salty pie like the one you see in the image is the simplest. Check it out in the step-by-step photos. Our cake has a shortcrust pastry base that we can easily substitute for puff pastry. And then we will go layering with ham, cooked potato, a bit of Serrano ham and a ricotta and egg cream.
We will finish our savory cake with grated Parmesan cheese and then ... baked!
It can be taken hot and also warm and cold, as you like.

Salty potato and ham cake
Original salty cake made with potatoes and ham.

Ingredients
- 1 sheet of shortcrust pastry or a sheet of puff pastry, round
- 600 g of potato (weight once peeled)
- 200 g of codido ham
- 20 g of Serrano ham (or more, according to taste)
- 2 eggs
- 250 g of ricotta
- Pepper
- Sal Island
- Parmesan
Preparation
Peel and cut the potatoes into slices.
We put water in a saucepan and, when it starts to boil, we add salt. Next we add the potatoes and cook them.
Once cooked, drain and reserve.
We take the sheet out of the refrigerator. After 10 minutes we unroll it and spread it in a mold of about 22 centimeters in diameter.
We cover the base with some slices of cooked ham.
On the cooked ham we put the potatoes, a few cubes of cooked ham, salt and pepper.
We beat the eggs and add the ricotta.
We mix well. We put half of the mixture, or a little less, on that first layer.
We make another layer with cooked ham.
We repeat putting the potato on the ham, a little Serrano ham, salt and pepper.
We pour the rest of the egg and ricotta mixture on the surface, well distributed.
We grate Parmesan cheese on the surface.
We lower the dough from the sides of the mold.
Bake at 180º (preheated oven) for 40 or 45 minutes, until the surface is golden.
