Today we will prepare an original spicy chocolate cake with dulce de leche that is scrumptious. you have to try it

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry or shortcrust pastry
  • 400 gr. sweet milk
  • 100 gr. dark chocolate
  • 75 gr. of butter
  • 1 fresh red chilli

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 220 degrees and while preparing the molds with the dough. Grease the pan with oil and cover with the puff pastry sheet. Lightly press the dough on the walls and bottom of the mold and prick with a fork so that it does not swell in the oven if we have used puff pastry. We can also put some legumes to make them weigh.

  2. Bake the dough in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool on a rack.

  3. To make the spicy chocolate, we open the chili in half and deseed them. We melt the chocolate and when it is still hot, we add the fresh chili to it to infuse. After two minutes, add the butter, mix and remove the chili.

  4. Spread the dulce de leche over the tartlet dough and cover with the chocolate. Refrigerate the cake to allow the chocolate to set a bit.

Notes

Another option: Substitute black pepper for the fresh chilli, which also pairs well with chocolate.

    Where can I find dulce de leche? Is it easy to get? I have been looking in a couple of hypermarkets and nothing….

    In some there is not because I have also looked for it. But they usually have it in those Latin American phone booths that sell products from their land or if you don't do like me, buy a bottle of condensed milk and cook it in a water bath until it takes on a caramel brown hue. That's the dulce de leche!
