Instead of poultry you can use meat from pig, whose sweet and sour recipe is also very famous in Chinese restaurants.

Ingredients

  • 8 thick chicken breast fillets
  • 2 pineapple slices in syrup
  • 1 green pepper
  • half an onion or 1 spring onion
  • oil
  • pepper
  • shawl
  • 150 grams of flour
  • 250 ml of water
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of thickener or cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 15 ml. vinegar

Preparation

  1. First we prepare the dough for the batter. For this we mix 100 ml. of water with yeast and flour. When we have a creamy and homogeneous dough, we let it rest in the refrigerator for a couple of hours.

  2. Cut the chicken into small strips, lightly season it and batter it in the dough prepared previously. We fry it in hot oil for a few minutes so that the batter is lightly browned and evenly.

  3. Cut the onion and pepper into cubes and sauté them briefly in a deep frying pan or wok with a little oil. So, we add the chicken and reserve.

  4. We make the sweet and sour sauce by mixing the rest of the water, the sugar, the paprika, the vinegar and the thickener used (see the instructions on the container to measure the amount). We put everything in a saucepan so that it comes to a boil. Then we let the sauce thicken over low heat.

  5. We add the sauce to the chicken along with the chopped pineapple. We serve immediately.

    Ingredient portions are not correct, for example ...
    100 ml of water and 150 gr of flour will never make a mixture to overflow.
    this recipe does not look very good ...
