Boil the broccoli without losing its color or flavor

When preparing vegetables and cooking them it is always recommended cut them as little as possible and boil them in just the right time to prevent them from losing their nutritional properties like vitamins and minerals in the least amount possible.

We also remind you that both leave the vegetables split and soaked in water for a long time as going too far in the cooking time contributes to the further loss of color and flavor as well as its vitamins and minerals. On the subject of color, it helps a lot to refresh the vegetables fresh from the pot with fairly cold water so that they recover that strong color that characterizes them in their original raw state.

But ... How should we boil the broccoli?

In the case of broccoli, the ideal is clean it whole before breaking it. Once we have it clean, we cut the lower trunk and divide it into twigs by the stems but without cutting them themselves.

Immediately afterwards, we put it in boiling salty water and in a large pot so that the broccoli has room to move and cook well. We are controlling the cooking time and the tenderness of the broccoli to avoid overcooking.

You have to try to cook it and cook until pasta isIe tender but firm and somewhat crunchy. As soon as we drain it, we passed it through very cold water to restore that bright green color so attractive for dishes in which broccoli is the protagonist.

Cooking time 6 days? 6 minutes? 6 hours??? Until it is ready? When do we know what we don't know when it's ready?
You can know a lot about cooking but it is another thing to write about cooking. The rest of the perfect explanation. The essential to answer the question ... is something else quite different.
