Gingerbread cookies, widespread in northern European countries at Christmas time, are famous for having very funny ways, a very typical one is that of the puppet, and being decorated with pieces smaller in mass and glazed different colored.

In order to prepare them, we are going to show you the recipe in this post, but we also want to introduce you a funny doll-shaped mold to make giant gingerbread cookies. Ingredients

  • 225 grams of white sugar
  • 100 grams of brown sugar
  • 230 grams of butter
  • 1 egg
  • 85 ml of cane honey
  • 280 grs. Of flour
  • 2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • half a teaspoon of grated nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons of baking soda
  • a pinch of salt

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 170ºC

  2. First of all we have to line the tray to be used with non-stick paper and lightly grease it.

  3. We knead half of the white sugar with the brown sugar and the margarine until obtaining a light cream

  4. Add the egg and beat until everything is well mixed.

  5. We add the honey.

  6. In another container we sift all the dry ingredients together and mix it with the sugar and butter mass

  7. Let rest in the fridge for 30 minutes.

  8. After this time, we spread the sugar on the countertop and spread the dough

  9. With the doll-shaped cookie cutter we cut the cookies and we are putting them separated from each other on the greased tray

  10. Remember to reserve a little dough to make the decorations, which will take much less time to bake.

  11. We put them in the oven for 15 minutes and then let them rest for another 5 minutes with the oven off.

  12. We remove them from the tray and put them on a rack.

  13. Decorate with icing with colorings and with the other dough decorations.
