Pecan pie

Celebrations in America are always accompanied by a good cake, like this one with pecans / pecans. Based on a rich cream, this cake is traditional in the south of the country, typical of the African-American cuisine of New Orleans. Besides walnuts, the aroma of this rich snack is given by vanilla and corn syrup (There is a theory that gives the authorship of the cake to a company that makes syrups) As the Americans do, you can add to the pecan foot some chocolate, bourbon whiskey or whipped cream.

Ingredients

• 1 sheet of shortcrust pasta
• 2 cups of split pecan nuts
• 1 and 1 / 4 cups of corn syrup (usually sold in herbalists
• but it can be replaced by maple or honey)
• 1/2 cup brown sugar
• 1/4 cup white sugar
• 3 eggs
• 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
• 2 teaspoons vanilla flavoring
• a pinch of salt

Preparation

1. We start by mixing the corn syrup with the two types of sugar, the beaten eggs, the melted butter, the vanilla and the salt.

2. We cover a round and low mold (special for dough tarts) greased with butter and flour and pour the previous dough

3. Add the pecan nuts on top

4. We put the mold in the oven tray to cook them at about 175 degrees (preheated oven) until the cake is set. About 45-60 minutes will be enough

5. Let cool and serve with cream or chocolate.
