- 225 gr of icing sugar
- 4 medium eggs
- 40 gr of cocoa powder
- 4-5 tablespoons of hot water
- 123 gr of sifted wheat flour
- 123 gr of fine corn flour Sifted cornstarch
For the chocolate coating:
- 175 gr of Tulip margarine
- 325 gr of icing sugar
- 25 gr of cocoa powder
- A teaspoon of milk
To decorate:
- 150 gr of dark chocolate chips
- 1 red candy
- Prepared white frosting
Preparation
We put the Tulipán margarine together with the sugar in a bowl and beat everything until the mixture is fine and fluffy. We integrate the eggs one by one and then the cocoa mixture.
Mix the flours and place the mixture in two 18 cm deep molds, greased and with the bottom lined with paper. We smooth the top.
We preheat the oven and bake at 180 °C in the middle position, for 45-55 minutes. Take them out and let them cool on the rack.
We pass them from the molds to the rack to cool completely.
We spread some prepared white icing, and cut out two circles to make the eyes. We left it reserved. We also reserve 8 pieces of chocolate to decorate the face of our reindeer and melt the rest. We use a bit of the melted chocolate to make the pupils in the center of each eye and wait for them to settle.
We extend a layer of baking paper on a template of the horns that we will have previously made. We spread the rest of the melted chocolate with a spatula to form the horns and let it cool in the fridge so that everything settles.
Now it is the turn of the coverage, for this, we beat the Tulipán margarine with the butter, icing sugar and cocoa powder until everything is well integrated.
To assemble it, if we see that the cakes are bulging, we cut the upper part and flatten it. We put one sponge cake on top of the other with a layer of chocolate coating in between. We cover the sides and the upper part with the rest of the coverage using a spatula.
We place the red candy in the position of the reindeer's nose, and lightly press the eyes on the cover. Add the chocolate chips that we have reserved on the sides of the reindeer's face.
Finally, we take the horns out of the fridge and use a spatula to make two cuts in the top of the cake. We place them carefully so that they do not break.
Enjoy!
