Tan thanks to like Valentine's Day is this "red velvet" cake. It is true that it is red, but not velvet, although the spongy and soft texture of the cake may resemble that of the pleasant fabric. Popular in North America, this three-tier pie it is usually colored with beets or food coloring.

Ingredients

  • 300 gr. pastry flour
  • 300 gr. sugar
  • 10 gr. baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon of black cocoa powder
  • 200 ml. melted butter
  • 200 ml. milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of white wine vinegar
  • a few drops of vanilla aroma
  • 1 pinch of salt, red food coloring

For the filling:

  • 150 gr. greek yogurt
  • 150 gr. of butter
  • a few drops of vanilla aroma
  • 150 gr. of fresh whipped cream with 300 gr. icing sugar
  • White chocolate for topping

Preparation

  1. First we make the cake by mixing the flour well with the sugar, salt, cocoa powder and yeast. Apart, beat the eggs well and add the melted butter, milk, vinegar and enough food coloring to create a pleasant deep red color. Now we are gradually incorporating the dry ingredients into this cream until they are well integrated and a homogeneous mass has formed.

  2. We put the resulting mixture in a well oiled and floured removable round mold and bake at 180 degrees until the inside of the cake is practically dry. Once the cake is ready, we unmold it and let it cool on a rack.

  3. Now we must prepare the filling.

  4. Once we have assembled the cream with the icing sugar, we mix it with a cream made after having beaten the yogurt, butter and vanilla.

  5. Once the cake is cold, we divide it into three parts and assemble the cake by filling the cake plates, spreading the cream over one of the layers, then covering with another and putting the filling again to finish covering it with the last sheet of cake.

  6. Now we only have to cover the cake with the melted white chocolate.
