The tropical salad, in addition to being rich due to its contrast of salty and bittersweet flavors, is a good way for children to eat fruits and vegetables together on the same plate, of which you have to eat about five pieces a day.
On these dates, a refreshing salad is a good option to prepare a complete menu. You already know that in salads we always have more freedom to add ingredients. If we want a lighter salad, we will add more fruits and vegetables. If we want it to be complex and have a unique dish, we can add some fish (tuna or salmon), seafood (prawns or crab), pasta or rice, meat or cold cuts (chicken or pork).
Generally, a tropical salad is made with a base of lettuce. Among the fruits, we can add the avocado, the banana or the laminated kiwi and the peach, the pineapple or the papaya in cubes. As vegetables, bell pepper, carrot, corn, onion, cabbage or cucumber can go well. We do not recommend the tomato because you water the salad a lot and its flavor would take a lot of presence with respect to the other ingredients. A vinaigrette or yogurt sauce that does not alter the flavor of the fruits much is ideal for dressing the salad.
