Cooking Tricks: Baked Bacon, Less Fat

Bacon is one of the most flavourful sausages that kids love, but we have a problem when preparing it. If it already has a high fat content, if we prepare it fried, we triple the amount of oils it contains. It is true that it is crunchy, but we add a high dose of fat to our body that is not good for us.

To continue enjoying all the flavor of bacon, and above all to maintain that crunchy touch that we like so much, today we are going to prepare it in two ways in which we will not have to use any oil, and the bacon will take advantage of all its fat to cook .

  • to the microwave. If we prepare it in the microwave, it is best to put it between kitchen paper so that it absorbs all the fat that it expels. I put at maximum power and for an approximate time of about 5 minutes, it all depends on the thickness of the slices. Go checking little by little if it has been cooked.
  • Baked. To prepare it, put a baking paper on the rack, so that all the fat stays on the paper. Place the baking tray under the rack, so that the excess fat stays on the tray without problems and does not fall into the oven. Put it at about 180 degrees for about 25 minutes. When you see that the bacon is golden, remove it, and you will see how they are as crispy or more than if you did it fried, and with half the fat.

You can keep it both ways in a container with a tight lid in the fridge without problems for a couple of days. It is perfect to accompany your salads and purees.
