With a simple filling and very little skill we can prepare a delicious empanada. Blood sausage and apple, a contrast between sweet and salty that may surprise us at aperitif time or at a casual dinner.

You have never tasted an empanada as rich as the one in this recipe. Do you dare to prepare it?

Ingredients

  • 2 golden apples
  • 500 gr. black pudding
  • 50 gr. pine nuts
  • 1 egg
  • 2 sheets of puff pastry
  • olive oil
  • pepper
  • shawl

Preparation

  1. Peel and cut the apples into thin slices and fry them slowly in a pan with oil so that they soften. We remove them.

  2. We remove the skin from the black pudding, shred them and add them to the same pan as the apples together with the pine nuts. Sauté a bit and season.

  3. On the baking tray, place parchment paper and spread out one of the puff pastry masses, put the filling on top, alternating layers of apple and black pudding, and leave the edges free.

  4. Next, we cover the empanada with the other sheet of puff pastry.

  5. We fold the edges to close the empanada, squeezing with a fork.

  6. Also prick the surface of the empanada with a fork and paint with beaten egg.

  7. Bake the empanada at 180 degrees until golden.
