It is traditional in the gastronomic culture of some areas such as Catalonia or Italy serve pasta on Christmas menus. Fill, as is the case with this recipe, or seasoned with unusual ingredients or sauces, Pasta can be as typical a dish for the holidays as any soup, meat or fish.

The shape of the pasta also counts. Large-sized pasta with cavities to fill such as cookies Catalans or the shells Italian (shells), the ravioli or the rigatoni (large grated macaroni) are very well presented. We have chosen the shells and we are going to prepare them with a rich veal filling, but you can choose the meat to your liking.

Ingredients

  • 400 gr. of large conchiglioni
  • 300 gr. minced beef
  • 1 medium broccoli
  • 4 tablespoons sieved crushed tomato
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 1 bit of chilli
  • 1 splash of wine
  • black pepper
  • oil
  • shawl

Preparation

  1. First of all we prepare some ingredients of the recipe. We wash the broccoli and divide it into branches free of the trunk. We chop the garlic well.

  2. Now we cook the broccoli for about 10 minutes in boiling salted water so that it is al dente. Once ready, we drain it.

  3. In a large frying pan with oil, sauté the garlic and chilli, when they are golden brown, add the meat and fry it over high heat for a few minutes. We remove the chilli and when it is golden brown, we add a little wine and continue sautéing the meat until it is tender and without juices.

  4. Chop the cooked broccoli and add it to the sautéed meat. Season with salt and add the tomato and ground pepper. Sauté for a couple of minutes so that a thick filling remains.

  5. Boil the pasta shells for 7 minutes so that they are not overcooked and we can fill them.

  6. Once stuffed, we bake them with grated cheese or a light béchamel so that they brown a little.
