Easy desserts: Portuguese Serradura

Ingredients

  • 1 brick of 500 ml. whipping cream
  • 1 can of 400 gr. approx. condensed milk
  • 1 and 1/2 roll of Maria cookies

It's the weekend we want to give ourselves a sweet treat, but let it be quick to prepare. You will love this typical dessert of Portuguese cuisine that is also prepared in Extremadura. And the children too. Contains only three ingredients: cream, condensed milk and cookies. Economical and easy to find, with these products we get a cold dessert that is soft in flavor and highly nutritious.

Preparation

  1. We pour the cream very cold, fresh out of the fridge, in a large bowl and we assemble it with a whisk.
  2. When it is dense, almost firm, we gradually add the condensed milk and we continue beating until the cream is well mounted, very firm. We booked.
  3. We chop the cookies to a greater or lesser degree.
  4. We choose the glasses in which we will serve the dessert and we are alternating layers of cream and cookies ground. We finish with the cookies to decorate and refrigerate the dessert for several hours so that it takes flavor and is more compact.

After reading the recipe, can you think of some ideas to innovate the dessert?

Hello Angela, thank you for showing this simple recipe, I had never tried them, I have encouraged myself to prepare them. I have adorned them with colored noodles and a few ounces of chocolate. I have also added less amount of condensed milk, since I have a diabetic at home, but they still came out delicious. Too bad I can't send you a photo. All the best
