A typical dessert or snack from the United States that refreshes your palate thanks to the tangy taste and refreshing aroma of lime. The cake consists of a crunchy base, a soft and fresh cream and a decoration for which you can take advantage of the bright green of the lime skin.

Ingredients

  • 500 gr. condensed milk
  • 5 limes
  • 500 ml. whipping cream
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 7 gelatin sheets
  • 24 cookies
  • 50 gr. of butter
  • chopped peanuts

Preparation

  1. Firstly, we cover a removable mold with plastic wrap

  2. To make the base of the cake we mix the crushed biscuits together with the melted butter and make a dough

  3. We also mix with the peanut crocanti and line the walls and the base of the mold.

  4. Grate the skin of the limes and squeeze the juice from two of them

  5. Mix the juice with the skin and add it to the condensed milk

  6. We stir well

  7. Heat a little of this mixture and dissolve in it the gelatin sheets softened in cold water and drained.

  8. Now we mount the very cold cream with the sugar and mix it well with the condensed milk

  9. Pour this cream over the cake base and let it set in the fridge for about 4 hours.

    But if you heat the cream, then to add the whipped cream, do you cool it or with the hot cream?

      Helena, as we only heat a small part of the cream, by linking it with the other cold part we can add the cream without problems.
