Valentine's Day is here! Congratulations to the romantics! I propose a recipe for an aperitif that you can assemble in a jiffy and it looks great. This pate o roasted pepper dip or the piquillo sauce spread on warm bread will cheer many hearts. You can use it as a sauce or dip to dip some nachos or chips.

Ingredients

  • 1 tub of Philadelphia type cheese spread
  • 1 jar of roasted peppers (or a can of piquillo peppers)
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (or normal)
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 pinch of cayenne pepper
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • Rolls or bagels for spreads
  • Pepper strips to decorate

Preparation

  1. Drain the peppers and pat them dry with kitchen paper (reserve some of the liquid in case it becomes too thick).

  2. Put them in the blender or food processor glass along with the garlic. Blend well and add the cheese until it becomes a smooth paste.

  3. Add the smoked paprika, salt and cayenne and blend again; If it is too thick, pour in a little of the pepper preservation liquid.

  4. Place in a bowl and garnish with red pepper strips making a heart.

  5. Place rolls or bagels around it to spread the pate.
