To prepare this simple cake we have been inspired by the recipe for a typical Luxembourg cake called bamkuch. The original recipe is made on a rotary spit and presents the cake as a tree trunk, since in the cut you can see the multiple layers of dough that make up the sweet. We could prepare in the oven, separately, the different sheets of sponge cake and then superimpose them, but to save time and effort, we will keep the traditional pastry flavor of the sponge cake and its spongy texture.
