We also suggest making them at home, because they are easy and entertaining, and because what is done at home is noticeable. The most common ingredients cannot be, and the touch of sweet anise gives it a very special point. Do not worry about the little ones, because when you bake them the alcohol will have evaporated completely and only the aroma will leave us.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg of toasted flour
  • 250 g of sugar
  • 30 ml sweet anise
  • 400 ml extra virgin olive oil
  • 250 ml of sweet wine
  • cinnamon
  • 40 g toasted sesame seeds
  • the scrape of a lemon
  • icing sugar for dusting

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180º C.

  2. Spread the flour on a tray and bake at medium temperature, lowering the oven to about 150º for about 30 minutes.

  3. While we do this, we heat the olive oil on the fire with an orange peel. When it starts to boil, set aside and let cool.

  4. In a bowl or salad bowl, put the flour and gradually add the oil and the rest of the ingredients; We beat carefully until we get a homogeneous mass. We spread the dough on the countertop or work surface with a rolling pin until it is about a finger thick, and the donuts are made.

  5. We cut with a cookie cutter or with the edge of a glass; the little hole can be made with an apple corer.

  6. Line a baking tray with parchment paper (for baking) and place the donuts on it. Bake in a preheated oven at 180º between 20 and 30 minutes. When they are still hot, they may look a bit soft, but they harden as they cool down.

  7. Remove the donuts from the oven and sprinkle them with sugar icing.

  8. Once they have cooled completely, we store them in an airtight container or in a can.
